To all my new and old followers
I have to thank you. Welcome to my days.
And thank you those who are still following me and reading these lines.
Nowadays, I became more gloomy and sad about many things. I gathered all the pieces of my jigsaw past and realize all my life from childhoold to my adulthood was a lie. I’m not writing about the typical struggle of being an adult… I’m talking about parents, relatives and friends I believed were loyal.
My parents never loved me at the strict meaning of love. My father never loved me, just tolerated (as all my relatives) and my mother is the personification of all the things I hate the most of Catholic church. On this particular case, do the maths.
The only relatives that really loved me are dead and I realized My life changed after my grandparents’ deaths. Adulthood was way darker than I thought.
But everyone has problems, I know. Each week I gain more problems and so as you. But besides that, I am eyewitnessing (did I write it right?) the fall of humankind. Ferguson, Middle East, Africa, Portugal seashore at the beginning of 2014 and no one said a word about it, the issues about the country I live and the notorious decay of most of the humans.
But, at the other hand, I hope things get worse. Why? In order to put this system in chaos. Yes, I am an optimistic guy and I hope everything get worse. This is the only way to make humans wake up and start to change. I hope, one day, hunger become a hateful past and money doesn’t exist anymore. I hope all human beings will love each other with respect, ethic and tolerance. I hope race and sexuality become history and everybody see themselves as humans, not labels.
But to do that, I know everything will burn to get rid of the evil things that prevent us to envolve.
Peace, love and prosperity to all of you, my fellow followers.
caseycorrupted asked: Hi Fools - I'm sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you could give me some art advice on how to render fur?(Especially fur trim, like Loki's hood in your BG) I appreciate you taking the time to read this~ I understand if you can't help me though! Thanks~
hm i thought i had pics of a progress thing but apparently I dont. Basically if i am doing fur trim i lay out a sold block of the mid colour, then using a fuzzy round brush, get the darkest colour i want (like a dark brown) and colour the middle, trying to leave the fuzzy edge, here’s a pic of it in progress
see what i kind of mean?
Then using a default gimp brush called Oils 2 i build up the fur using a light colour, with very short stubby kind of movements, mimicking individual clumps of hair and fur, and going in a pattern, so the shortest looking and thickest clumps are nothing more than like a short “dab” and then the other bits of hair “grow out” from this towards the edges, or heading around the trim
like here on the left hand corner of this fur trim, the stuff pointing towards the viewer appears short and stubby, and with a lot of the dark undercoat showing through, and then the rest of the fur grows out from that and heads around the trim naturally.
you can also download fur brushes specifically from deviantart, mangycoyote has some good ones
yeah other than that, just focus on blocks and sections rather than going “i have to draw hair, every hair” and it just ends up a weird liney mess. Like in the above photo you can see that the undercoat is dark, so you’d need a dark undercoat, then near the bottom where the hair turns that reddy brown, you build that in, and then over the top, build in the lighter hairs. Basically work from the bottom up, under coat > mid coat > upper lighter coat on top and detail. And with fur, its important to have the right direction, so when drawing in the actual clumps and hair on an animal, you work from the tail end to the head, from the feet, up to the body, so it looks like the fur is actually naturally overlapping.
